there are two rules in origami: the folder can only use one sheet of square paper, and the paper cannot be cut or torn in any way.
the above dragon was made by a japanese savant named satoshi kamiya. it has several hundred overlapping scales and the folding alone took him months to complete.
his ability far exceeds that of even the most complex cad-based origami generation programs.
how big was this sheet of paper? (or, how small is this dragon?)
and either way — how is it possible that this could be made from only one single sheet of paper? (my puny American brain can’t even begin to fathom it.)
