You cannot stop in the middle of the sidewalk, street, steps of the subway, platform of the subway, or actually anywhere in this city. Once you start moving do not stop. You will get run over or punched in the face.Or possibly both.

if, for some reason, you decide that you absolutely, positively must stop — please find your way to behind something I wasn’t planning on walking through anyway (such as nearby benches, horses, gargabe cans, etc.). if, while walking, you feel your progress at all starting to slow (or, god forbid, coming to a halt) — please locate one of these static objects and hug it for dear life. thank you.
